Voter Registration for U.S. Citizens
Get ready to rock the vote! American military and overseas citizens can vote, wherever they are. If you're a U.S. citizen living in Freiburg and you're also an eligible voter, the Carl-Schurz-Haus is your place to make your voice heard. Voter registration deadlines are just around the corner for this November’s election of the 47th President of the United States. It’s absolutely necessary to be formally registered on the electoral roll to be entitled to choose the head of your country. Our in-house Federal Voting Assistance Officers Theresa Voitek and Sabine Pawletta will help you sign up to request your absentee ballot in order to cast your vote and guide you through the whole process of actively taking part in American democracy. To ensure you continue to receive absentee ballots during your time away from your voting residence in the U.S., it is recommended to submit a new voter registration every election cycle. Please bring your Social Security Number as well as a State ID or valid driver’s licence (not accepted by all states) with you.
