Children and Young Adults
The CSH Library is happy to welcome kids and teens of all ages! Thousands of books - including favorites like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, or classics like The Very Hungry Caterpillar - are just waiting to be checked-out!
All children's books in our library are marked by age group. So if you are not sure whether a book is age appropriate for your child, you can find this information best in our 
Online Catalog or by asking one of our friendly librarians for help. However, these markings are only ever a suggestion and never a rule!
Also when searching for specific titles, you can look them up in the Online Catalog or by visiting our library's Kid's Corner.

Story Time
Once a month, the Carl-Schurz-Haus Library invites everyone to take part in our Story Time! A chance for kids (and parents!) to just sit back and let new adventures unfold before them.
Each Story Time is centered around a specific topic for which our lovely readers have selected a book (or two) to match. Accompanied by fun activities, children have the opportunity to laugh, learn, and sometimes even sing!
The event is mostly aimed for children between ages 3-6 who wish to improve their English or just spend a fun afternoon at the library. But, of course, everyone is welcome!
The next Story Time dates in 2025 are:
- September 20 Tiny But Mighty with Evie
- October 18 Adventure Begins in the Library with Ashley
- November 15 Dr. Seuss with Diane
- December 06 Penguins with Evie
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. in room C5 and lasts approximately 1 hour.
