Open Dialog: The Future of Travel

German-American Topics in English with Jason Brown

The past year travel has been upended by an unprecedented global crisis and the tightening of restrictions around border entries. Now that vaccination campaigns are well under way (at least in certain countries in the Global North) people are itching to get away again. But several hurdles to traveling in good conscience remain: travel infrastructure, Covid-19 concerns and specifically the ecological impact of travel – especially plane travel. At the same time, more and more train companies schedule night trains through Europe and most major airlines allow for carbon emission compensation. How differently does this debate play out on a small continent vs a very big country?

Let’s talk about travel, sustainability, about challenges and possibilities for the future!

The discussions will take place online. You will receive a link to the virtual meeting room upon registration.
