Monday Nite at the Movies

Racist symbols cover Bryon “Pitbull” Widner’s (Jamie Bell) skin from head to toe. Based on a true story, Guy Nattiv’s Skin follows one of FBI’s most wanted white supremacists, notorious for his violent hate crimes, and his attempt to turn his life around after falling in love. Leaving his past behind, however, is by no means easy. While enduring death threats and harassment from former gang members, Widner also goes through 25 torturous tattoo removal surgeries with the help of black activist Daryle Lamont Jenkins (Mike Colter). Driven by Widner’s internal development, the biopic not only explores what draws underprivileged youth to extremism, but also highlights people’s ability to change for the better.
