The German-American Institute was founded in 1952 as the Amerika-Haus,a binational cultural center which, since 1960, organizes approximately 250 events each year relating to current topics in German and American culture. All those interested in these issues are invited to attend lectures, workshops, readings and discussions with German and American experts. Additionally, we organize an English language film series, an English library (with over 12,000 titles, 2,700 films, 1,200 audiobooks, and 50 newspapers), preparation courses for those planning to study in the USA, as well as English courses taught exclusively by native speakers.
