Our Hygiene Concept and Instructions For Visitors

 

Welcome to the Carl-Schurz-Haus!

We are happy to have you here.
In order to continue to keep our institute open for you with as few restrictions as possible, we ask you to please follow our hygiene concept and the house rules implemented to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

FFP2 Mask Mandate
FFP2 masks are required in the hallway, the bathrooms, as well as in the Carl-Schurz-Haus library.

Social distancing
Please keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters between you and other visitors as well as our staff.

Wash your hands

Please wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds and make use of our hand-sanitizing stations.

Sneezing etiquette
Please always remember to sneeze and cough into your elbow and not your hands. Masks are required in the hallway, the bathrooms, as well as in the Carl-Schurz-Haus library.

2G-Plus Rule
All visitors must currently present proof of vaccination or recovery and a negative antigen or PCR test. The antigen test must not be older than 24 hours, the PCR test not older than 48 hours. For cultural events of the Carl-Schurz-Haus the 2G-Plus rule also applies, proof of vaccination or recovery, as well as a negative test must be presented.
The following individuals are exempt from the additional testing requirement:

  • Individuals who have received their third vaccination
  • Vaccinated persons with completed basic immunization, if no more than 3 months have passed since their second vaccination
  • Convalescents whose infection can be proven to have occurred no more than 3 months ago
  • Children up to and including 7 years of age who have not yet started school
  • Elementary school students, students of a special education and counseling center, a school that builds on the elementary school or a vocational school - only applies to students up to and including 17 years of age.

Please note: The Carl-Schurz-Haus is obliged to check your certificates. Recovery and vaccination certificates must be checked electronically. The yellow vaccination card is currently no longer considered sufficient proof! Please bring your digitally readable proof of full vaccination coverage, i.e. the QR code in printed form or in the app.

Registration
All visitors, who are not registered to attend a language course, are required to submit their name and contact information (postal address and E-mail and/or phone number) in written form at the entrance.

Maximum number of visitors
No more than 40 visitors are permitted in the entrance/hallway area of the Carl-Schurz-Haus at any given time.

No more vistor number restrictions in the library. All library visitors must wear a mask.

For language courses in the library: a maximum of eight language course participants and one teacher are permitted without masks when adhering to social distancing measures of 1.5 meters between all individuals.

For language courses in rooms C1-C4: a maximum of three course participants and one teacher are permitted without masks when adhering to social distancing measures of 1.5 meters between all individuals.

For language course in the conference room (C5 and C6): a maximum of 11 language course participants and one teacher are permitted without masks when adhering to social distancing measures of 1.5 meters between all individuals.

During language courses masks are not required so long as social distancing measures are upheld.

Ventilation
Between all courses, (or between a course and the library’s opening hours) rooms are to be aired out. Between courses, rooms will remain unoccupied for at least 30 minutes. The hallway area will be aired out every 30 minutes.

Children and parents
Children under 6 years of age are not required to wear a mask. For students aged 6-18 it is required to wear at least a medical mask, FFP2 masks are not mandatory in this age category. Because there is only one entrance for visitors to the exhibit, the library, and for all language course participants, we kindly ask parents to pick up their children quickly and to avoid waiting in the hallway area longer than necessary.
