Our Hygiene Concept and Instructions For Visitors

Welcome to the Carl-Schurz-Haus!

We are happy to have you here.
In order to continue to keep our institute open for you with as few restrictions as possible, we ask you to please follow our hygiene concept and the house rules implemented to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Social distancing
Please keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters between you and other visitors as well as our staff.

Wash your hands

Please wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds and make use of our hand-sanitizing stations.

Sneezing etiquette

Please always remember to sneeze and cough into your elbow and not your hands. Masks are required in the hallway, the bathrooms, as well as in the Carl-Schurz-Haus library.

Registration

All visitors, who are not registered to attend a language course, are required to submit their name and contact information (postal address and E-mail and/or phone number) in written form at the entrance.

Maximum number of visitors

No more than 15 visitors are permitted in the entrance/hallway area of the Carl-Schurz-Haus at any given time.

No more than four visitors are permitted in the library at the same time. All library visitors must wear a mask.

For language courses in the library: a maximum of eight language course participants and one teacher are permitted without masks when adhering to social distancing measures of 1.5 meters between all individuals.

For language courses in rooms C1-C4: a maximum of three course participants and one teacher are permitted without masks when adhering to social distancing measures of 1.5 meters between all individuals.

For language course in the conference room (C5 and C6): a maximum of 11 language course participants and one teacher are permitted without masks when adhering to social distancing measures of 1.5 meters between all individuals.

During language courses masks are not required so long as social distancing measures are upheld.

Ventilation
Between all courses, (or between a course and the library’s opening hours) rooms are to be aired out. Between courses, rooms will remain unoccupied for at least 30 minutes. The hallway area will be aired out every 30 minutes.

Children and parents
Children under 10 years of age are not required to wear a mask. Because there is only one entrance for visitors to the exhibit, the library, and for all language course participants, we kindly ask parents to pick up their children quickly and to avoid waiting in the hallway area longer than necessary.

Thank you for your visit and your cooperation! Stay healthy!
